ÖZKARTALLAR RECYCLING PLASTIC
The main source for plastic is crude oil, gas and coal. The remainings from the oil refineries are the main source for plastic. Only 4% of plastic is produced from the total oil in the world. Plastics low density, strength, due to its flexible shape and low cost makes it widely used. Because of its multipurpose useage and availibility everywhere has a cost for the environment. Plastics, today became the most negative image because of packaging materials with waste. Since 1970 plastic usage has increased fivefold. Because plastic is the longest surviving element in nature and has the longest fragmentation and disintegration time, its very hard to terminate it. When they are trashed they never get rust, insoluble, biological as incorruptible and it remains intact in the environment for many years. There are some plastics which will last in the environment for 1000 years and causes water and soil pollution. Damages the living and causes there death. And thats why these materials should be stored separately from other materials as much as possible and recycled. Istead of using new resources to produce palstic benefiting from plastic waste recycling products obtained to provide energy-saving rate of 85-90%.
Plastics are divided in their own class. These are;
PE (polyethylene) main areas of application:
Shopping bags, cosmetic packaging, ice cream cups. New shopping bags, films, various bottles, recycling piggy bank, garbage bags, agricultural piping, they can be converted to children's playground equipments.
PET (polyethylene Tetra phthalate)
main areas of application:
Soft drinks, soda, juice, water and oil bottles, jars, transparent coverwith market and deli containers are used in the production of various food packaging. Beverage bottles, plastic trays, synthetic carpets content, they can be converted to stretch pencils.
PP (Polypropylene)
main areas of application:
Thin packaging of fast moving consumer foods, ketchup bottles, yogurt, cheese, margarine used in the construction of the container.
